If you are a dog owner, or any pet owner as a matter of fact, and a chillihead at the same time, it is possible that your dog comes in contact with either hot sauce or a chilli pepper.
If your pet accidentally ingested some hot sauce or chilli, it is possible that it may have a reaction to it.
Chilli peppers will not kill your dog or cat as it is not toxic to them... at least in small amounts.
However your pet is probably not used to eating spicy food as it is not in their natural diet and pet food never contains chilli. Therefore its digestive system won't be react positively. This will most likely result in your pet vomiting its food (natural way for its body to reject unwanted food) or have an upset stomach.
The best thing you can do, right now, is monitor closely your pet and if it doesn't show signs of recovery within an hour or two, you may consider bringing it to the vet. This will bring you peace of mind at the very least.
You may also want to consider serving milk in a bowl and have your pet drink it. Dairy products like milk are known to soothe the chilli burn.
Hope this helps!
